Loud music from on site parties means no sleep until after midnight

We had a late check in on a Friday night. When we arrived there were three people working the front desk yet no one acknowledged us. When the woman did finally talk to us she seemed annoyed. No smile. No greeting. It was around 11pm. We were tired and went up to our room. We were room 324. The exterior door to the room looked pretty dinged up. Upon opening the door we realized we were booked in a handicapped room. We did not need nor did we ask for it. The room had a bad vibe. Was stuffy and offered an off putting smell. The bedding and towels were clean but chair had stains and floor didn’t feel vacuumed. Then there was the noise. It was very loud music with the base beating. It sounded like a DJ/party and that’s exactly what it was. I called the front desk and asked if we would move to a quieter room. Was told they were sold out. (I don’t believe that was the truth) She then said the party should wrap up at midnight. I explained we were there for my son who is going to be going to nearby college and playing football. Because of this we planned on being back in the area often. I asked if this was the norm She said it was on the weekends. That there were always events on site. The music finally stopped at midnight but I still struggled to sleep as my nerves were shot. The next morning at 7:30am my son was showering. That’s when someone was trying to get into our room. They knocked and were trying to use a card to get in. My son had just gotten out of shower and yelled through door that someone was already in the room. Needless to say it was unsettling. I am hoping they just had the wrong room. Not that they had also been assigned our room by staff. We reluctantly came back for our second night after being gone all day. We had already booked it and were hoping things would be better. Nope. The party/noise started up again at 8pm. Between the noise and smell we decided to leave and drive four hours home. I guess because of the hour we did avoid traffic on our drive. So that’s a positive. I will say the woman working the desk around 6pm Saturday was very friendly and helpful when we inquired about ordering a pizza and recommended a local place. Other than that. Not a great experience.

Friendly staff, helpful. Lobby nice. Nice bar area but expensive. That’s where it ends… Hot off elevator to old wallpaper and smell. Room was old, smelled terrible and gave me a headache, old peeling wallpaper, dents in doors, ripped stools. It was awful!! We expected much more from a Hilton.

I have booked Hilton Garden Inn at Stenten Island NY on March 9, 2024. The front desk staff who did not wear her name badge with no name on her, assigned me room 608 and did not disclose my room is a connecting room. I noticed the connecting door with no isolation at all. Two hours later after my shopping, a neighboring guest at 610 checked in and stary making loud noise with loud music playing all the time. I went down to front desk to talk with the same staff who check me in about the noise. She lied to me that all room were booked, and she would ask hotel security staff to talk with the neighboring guest to quiet down. Over one hour later, nothing happened, and I talked with her again. She suggested I move to another hotel at Hampton Inn because she could not do anything about it. She was rude and impatient and had very bad attitude as if I were on the wrong side. I have to move to Hampton Inn during the rain!!! When I asked for her the price difference for a refund, she lied shamelessly price at Hampton Inn was higher than Hilton Gargen Inn. I asked for her name, she gave me a card "Samantha Flores". Whether this was her true name or not, I did not know. However, her attitude and service made this hotel a terrible place!

We stayed here prior to our Queen Mary 2 cruise. They are in a very safe looking location and more nice motels around it. They have a restaurant in the motel so you don't have to worry about finding meals while you're there. The public bus stop is not far from the motel parking lot and it will take you to the ferry. (It's about an hr ride so don't get in a rush.) Every one at the hotel was nice and helpful. We'd definitely stay here again or recommend it. The best part-They allowed us to leave our car there while we were gone on our 2 wks cruise- And it was complementary!

Not a good place before a cruise departure

I stayed there on a Saturday night before a cruise. The sound from the tent based window was so loud it shook my 5th floor windows until late in the evening. The lobby was like Grand Central Station with all the wedding traffic. The front desk wasn't able to do anything about the loud music. My Hilton stay was a waste of money and a horrible way to start my vacation. Why do you bother renting hotel rooms to anyone except wedding attendees. The front desk rep should have done something, anything to make up for the racket. Instead I got a big smile and a what can I do hand gesture.
